Sometimes, even if we don’t realize it, what we really need is some open space to stop and smell the roses. Time without an itinerary to just let things evolve. An opportunity to notice the beauty all around us, to appreciate our favorite people, to unplug and just be.
The picture in our head may be blue skies and sandy beaches, yet God gives us misty air, a rose garden & blooms everywhere, quaint little bistros, delicious food, perfect seaside runs (wet, humid runs with crazy frizzy hair). Although different than we planned, when we look back on the situation, we realize that He gave us exactly what we actually needed.
As I’m sure you have figured out, we didn’t have beach weather for our little seaside getaway, BUT it was wonderful. We invited my mom and my best friend to join us, and I had such a wonderful time with my favorite people. Today, I thought I’d share a few snapshots of some of my favorite moments.
None of us put a swimsuit on even once, and I had to improvise with my looks because it was wet and cold and I packed mostly beach attire. Despite the clothing woes, it was a wonderful, refreshing blessing in disguise.
I hope you all had a happy and safe Independence Day, and are enjoying your summer as it unfolds!
