Ideal Wardrobe Remix {wool trousers & leather jacket}

wearing:  Everlane cropped cashmere sweater  |  wool trousers |  AllSaints leather jacket  | Jeffrey Campbell booties

It is quite possibly easier to adopt and care for a pet penguin than to find a quality pair of high rise wool trousers at a reasonable price point  (that comparison comes to mind  because I really want a penguin…).

I did my best to round up a few options for you.  Most of them are under $200.00 which is still pricey… I know.  As I’ve mentioned a few times, in my ideal wardrobe articles, these high rise, extra long, well fitting trousers are off the charts expensive.  This is why I place them on my list of Investment Worthy pieces. Over the past five years of searching, I have managed to find two pair that are cut perfectly.  One is crepe, unlined in black and the pair I’m wearing is wool, lined in navy donegal. I was blessed to find my black pair via T.J. Maxx , and the pair in this post,  I actually snagged from Loft a few years ago.  In order to achieve that designer fit I wanted at Loft, I had to purchase a tall.  Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a pair like these at Loft since, and trust me….I’ve look so many times. This houndstooth high waist pair  (on super sale right now) may give you a similar look but they don’t come in tall so that will depend on your body type (I’m 5’6′ with long legs, short torso).   Here is another option on sale as well at Loft.  The reviews are excellent!

Below are a few quality options at different price points.

There is something about this sleek, legs for days look that I love so so much.  It is not one I could afford without keeping my eyes peeled for quality, affordable options.   My recommendation is to look for sales, keep stalking discount retailers like T.J. Maxx, don’t rule out H&M premium quality, and consider thrifting!
