Hi! It’s been a little while. As I always do, I missed you and I missed the authentic joy that permeates my life when I document my style, beauty tips and photography here. As with so many things in this life, the delightful gets tangled up with the dreadful and before long there is a mountain of contention in our hearts over something we once loved. I’ve put the time in to untangle it. Jesus, time, and quiet have brought clarity.
There is much about blogging that isn’t for me, yet the elemental truth, the initial motivation…the raison d’être is the reason to continue and it is more apparent now than ever. Blogging is a passion, a God given gift that elicits spirit and vitality in the author, it encourages and uplifts others in way has the potential to create a ripple affect of love and positivity. It unfolds slowly and masterfully, and abides in our hearts far longer than whatever of-the-moment craze is taking the world by it’s purse strings. This is the part that is for me, and I for it. What is for me… is the heart part.
WITH CLARITY, CAME A NEW NAME
For a while, I’ve been feeling That Classy Ever After wasn’t the right name. It doesn’t reflect who I am at this time in my life, nor does it align with what this blog has grown into. There is nothing fairy tale-ish about a simple, minimal approach to style, a penchant for natural beauty, or doing the work it takes to grow into the women God created us to be. That is really what I share here, and so it was time for a change.
Yes, I am obsessed with French Girl Style. I realize the question will likely arise as to why I didn’t choose something French. I thought about it, but I am Italian. I love the sound of this…diari di cuore, and I love what it means. The direct translation is Heart Diaries. And, ladies…that is what this little blog is. It is stuff I love. Stuff I have discovered through trial and error. Stuff I want to share with others who share the same passions, and hopes. Stuff I hope inspires and uplifts you. It’s real, and it is from my heart. #realisthenewperfect
My obsession with Levi’s is not news to anyone. So there is that. The thing is I’ve had to be creative and make my own version of the coveted RE/DONEs. I’ve purchased several pairs of classic 501s and then altered them, or made them my own in some way. This pair, I had shortened quite a bit. After seeing these photos, I took a pumice stone to the hems and distressed the hell out of them. Pictures don’t lie, right! They needed it….badly.
Also, I just love a classic cable knit. This is a piece that looks fabulous with everything from leggings or joggers to a fancy skirt. Or, of course, toss one on with a pair of cropped Levi’s (after you distress the hem…LOL) and block heels! So remix-able.
If you are in the market for a classic, 100% wool cable knit sweater, I recommend checking out eBay. There are some beautiful ones available that are in excellent condition and very reasonably priced!
