Style Journal Vol. 1

We are heading up to Maine this weekend (Kennebunk & Portland).  Rain is in the forecast the entire time. Walking around the city of Portland in the rain presents a slight outfit obstacle, BUT I think I’ve got it covered (more on this next week).  For now, here is a preview of what I’ve got packed.

I’ve worn this outfit a couple of times, and I absolutely love the understated elegance.   A delicate black lace pencil skirt (midi length) with a simple oversized cashmere crew and black heels always works!

two pair new in for spring!

I am more partial to black shoes and bags, but I love cognac (especially suede) with these blue stripes.  I’m drawn to the pairing for some reason.

always a kitty in the mix!

The more I edit my closet and eliminate all the items I don’t adore, the easier everything is becoming for me.  This includes packing light for a get away.  I can’t even put into words how liberating this is!

I’m going to bring my wellies because we are driving and I have the room, and I know we will be walking around in the city a bunch on Saturday.   Not my first choice of footwear but it is better then being soggy and ruining my shoes.  I’m also bringing my leather Chelsea booties.  I treated them with leather conditioner and protectant spray again yesterday.

The Levi’s 501 skinny  in the summer dune wash and a perfect little grey cashmere sweater.  One of my looks for this weekend away.

giving Deborah Lippmann’s fade to black a try.  I always come back to Essie, but I’ve heard great things about this one.  I’ll let you guys know how I like it.

obsessed with these jeans!  LOVE!

I wanted to show you guys more of this scarf.  Perfection!  100% silk, with the cutest little print I ever did see.  It sold out so fast.  I would keep checking back at J.CREW because they may bring it back.
