Many of you know how much I value versatility  when it comes to an item of clothing!  A simple blazer is one of those pieces that you can actually do a million things with.  Well, maybe not quite a million, but you get the idea.

What I love most about a classic blazer is that even when you style it in a very casual way, you still feel like a boss!  Am I right??   A blazer always seems to exude a grown up, confident vibe while still being fun and chic.  What is not to love about this combo of qualities!?

This look is what I wore a couple of weeks ago when Jeff and I spent the day in Portland, ME.  We took a little trip up north for our anniversary, and hit up a few different spots.  In addition to Portland, we visited Kennebunk, ME and Portsmouth, NH.  We didn’t do too much out of the ordinary, but I did try my first whiskey shot.  I’ve always been curious about whiskey.  Let’s just say I am a red wine and dirty martini girl and I’ll be sticking to that.  I guess by the time we reach our forties, we know what we love.

Back to the blazer.

For this occasion, I knew I needed to layer because the temperature was cool in the morning and night, but sort of warmed up in the afternoon.  A cami would have been a little too dressy and probably still too cool to wear alone.  I chose a t-shirt that could carry the look if I ended up needing to take off my blazer.   The t-shirt I’m wearing is a thick enough cotton to wear alone.  Also, the subtle graphic adds a less serious component to the look making it perfect for a leisurely weekend day with my love.  Finally, I added some interest with my snakeskin boots.  Surprisingly, these boots are super comfy so my feet stayed happy while walking around the city!

I’m wearing :  J.Crew Regent Blazer {runs small, I’m wearing an 8 tall} | Levi’s original fit 501s in love fool |  Ciao baby t shirt
